UniSC Giving Day (G-Day)

Subject: Help make life better on G-Day

Dear friend,

UniSC's annual giving day, G-Day, is an opportunity to make life better in areas that matter to us.

This giving day, we are raising funds for three important giving areas - mental health (PTSD) research, sea turtle conservation and student support.

We need your help!

Visit the giving day site and make a donation. You can choose to give to the area that matters most to you.

There are some generous organisations standing by to match donations - increasing the impact of your gift.

All donations will go directly to your chosen area and gifts over $2 are tax deductible.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please let me know.

Thanks for your support.

Mental Health (PTSD) Research

Subject: Make a difference for mental health on G-Day

Dear friend,

UniSC’s annual giving day (G-Day) is an opportunity to come together and make a difference to an area that matters to all of us.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is one of Australia’s greatest health challenges. Up to one in five frontline responders including police, ambulance officers, paramedics, firefighters and military personnel - those who dedicate their lives and careers to helping and protecting others – will suffer from it. Front-line responders have increased chances of developing PTSD, though anyone who has been exposed to an event that threatens their life or safety, including assault, vehicular accidents or disasters is also at risk.

You can help make life significantly better for people suffering from PTSD, by ensuring better care is available and effective, lasting treatments are discovered. When you give to Mental Health (PTSD) research this G-Day, your donation will contribute to facilities and programs at the National PTSD Research Centre.

This is something I feel passionately about, and I’m planning to give and fundraise this G-Day. Will you join me?

There are generous organisations standing by to match donations - increasing the impact of your gift. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of funds directed to mental health will go directly to the Thompson Institute’s work to establish the National PTSD Research Centre.

Together, our small acts of kindness can transform lives.

Thank you for your support.

Sea Turtle Conservation

Subject: Save endangered sea turtles on G-Day

Dear friend,

UniSC’s annual giving day (G-Day) is an opportunity to come together and make a difference to an area that matters to all of us.

Sadly, hundreds of sea turtles are in danger of starving to death in the coming months, after flood waters smothered seagrass meadows with sediment. Many more of these magnificent creatures will be impacted by pollutants that come with flood waters, including the large amounts of plastic and rubbish that gets swept out of storm drains.

This G-Day, UniSC is raising funds to establish a turtle rescue and rehabilitation centre. This vital project will improve the support available for sea turtles through ongoing rescue and research work.

Please join with me by giving to a project that will not only directly improve the plight of sea turtles in our local region, but will also have a long-term impact at a state, national and international level for sea turtle conservation and care. Here’s what to do:

Together, we can help make a difference.

Thanks for your support.

Student Support

Subject: Support education this G-Day

Dear friend,

UniSC’s annual giving day (G-Day) is an opportunity to come together and make a difference to an area that matters to all of us.

We all know that studying can be stressful and with the cost of living on the rise, many students are experiencing increased financial pressure. G-Day makes a difference for students who need a little extra support to help them stay and achieve their study goals at UniSC.

All funds raised got to study support bursaries and the Scott Williams Foundation has generously offered to match every dollar donated up to $75,000.

Education has made a big difference in my life and I want to help others achieve their goals and dreams, will you join with me?

Your gift will be matched, up to $75,000 by the Scott Williams Foundation, doubling the impact of your donation.  All donations are also tax deductible and 100% of funds will go directly to study support bursaries.

Together, our small acts of kindness can transform lives.

Thank you for your support.
